Philadelphia Flyers Select BWSF for Community Ticket Grant

Philadelphia, PA — BWSF was please to be awarded a Philadelphia Flyers Community Ticket Grant. Through the grant, BWSF hosted families from SCOP and other community based organizations at the Philadelphia Flyers Ice Hockey Gender Equality Night and Philadelphia Wings Lacrosse Kids Day at the Wells Fargo Center on March 7, 2020.

During Flyers Gender Equality Night, the Flyers Organization recognized BWSF for its work toward fostering gender equity in all aspects of sport, including athletics, coaching and administration. BWSF and community partners from Bringing Everybody Together (BET) and Friends of Laura Sims Skate House were featured on the jumbo-tron during the tribute.

BWSF distributed over 200+ tickets for the Philadelphia Wings vs New England Black Wolves afternoon game, and the Philadelphia Flyers vs Buffalo Sabres evening game. The Wings fell to the Black Wolves, 9-7, and the Flyers picked up their 9th straight win.

The games were also used as a vehicle to create career awareness in sports for the youth attendees. The BWSF community guests hailed from the following organizations:
