An Important Announcement About COVID-19 Impact on BWSF

The Black Women in Sport Foundation (BWSF) President, Tina Sloan Green, and Executive Director Nnenna Akotaobi, have released a statement regarding the Coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19:

“We are in discussion with all of our partners and sites, and are paying close attention to the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local state and city health officials.  We are developing contingency plans and preparing for the long-term impact on the programs we provide.

“We have made the difficult decision, in consultation with the Board and based on guidance from many parties, to halt all BWSF programming effective immediately. We will continue to monitor the ongoing situation, and make informed decisions with our partners.

“We thank our many partners, volunteers, and participants for the support of BWSF, and look forward to resuming programming in the near future.”

As this is a rapidly evolving situation the CDC website is the best resource for up-to-date information on COVID-19.  The CDC has also provided guidance to businesses, schools, and other entities to implement interim measures.
